I haven't posted in a while, which is terrible ]: I've been busy studying for my SAT II History next Saturday and AP Tests the two weeks following. AP Season is definitely not fun because I'm not used to having to work near the end of the school year. Last year I basically slacked off because my grades from the first three quarters were high enough to balance it. Oh the easy life of being an underclassman...

Anyways, I woke up on Saturday morning at 2 to drive to Maryland for Chemathon (it was a 6 hour drive). We ended up getting 4th, which was kinda disappointing considering that the 3rd place team cheated and it's a big jump from 1st last year. But then again, Level II events were difficult this year ): The cheating thing really bugged me and showed me how unfair life can be sometime. However, we actually talked about this in Sunday school today about how good things happen to bad people and about how bad people don't get punished. Well, that's not entirely true. Just because these people aren't punished in the timeframe you expect, it doesn't mean that God has been unfair. In fact, this is done to give these people a chance to repent because God is merciful after all. [: It made me feel better about the situation. Also, we made a schedule during Sunday school to pray for a different person a day. I will be praying for each of you this week.

Chemathon was all in all pretty fun except for the bus ride back when people decided to play Mafia the ENTIRE 6-HR RIDE. It became very repetitive and boring after awhile...especially because I always ended up being a townsperson and that wasn't very fun.

Another thing I've realized today. During Sunday school we had to think of the person whom we are closest with and I realized that it wasn't Cindy. Hmm...interesting.

Spring has always been my season. Everything great has always happened in the Spring, and this year should be no exception. However, Spring is also my most stressful season with AP tests and SAT IIs but instead of complaining about my stressful life (which I do quite a lot), I'm going to listen to Dr. B for once and go forth with a positive attitude. [: I see the light at the end of the tunnel (that sounded really freaky).

So I went to the NHS induction last night and it was really boring but it gave me an opportunity to dress up. Yay! I haven't worn a dress in a really long time and I hate wearing pants so...
I had to hear Dr. B give his 30-minute positive enthusiastic attitude speech (again) but this time it really affected me. In the beginning of the year when he gave the speech to all the students, I didn't really pay attention because I felt like the message didn't apply to me. However, after many months of school and stress, I've grown appreciative of the message [: I have to admit...some days I feel as if I'm drowning in a sea of stress (I know I know...cliche metaphor) and want to give up but I've realized that I shouldn't let every little thing bother me and trust in myself to do well. Spring IS my season so you never know...:p

Yesterday was pretty hectic. We had to present our CCA project at 2:30 for the in school competition. Annie and Bonnie forgot the presentation at home because they were working on it last night but we retrieved an earlier copy from their email but had to make new revisions to it during homeroom. Then, we skipped lunch to rehearse our presentation because we couldn't get it to around 10 minutes. After running through the presentation once, we realized that the added mp3 wasn't working SO we had to fix that. [: Luckily, it all worked out in the end and we won the competition. Now, we have to travel to Pitt on April 28 (?) for the actual competition.

Today, I debated for the first time ever. YAY. [: During APUSH, we had a "trial" for the war in Vietnam and I was part of the defense team. We had to prove that the Vietnam War was justified, which is definitely the harder position. How can you justify the bloodshed and deaths when we didn't even win? Anyways, the trial isn't finished yet so we won't know how we did until Monday.

That's all for now. I'll update again when something exciting happens :p (not likely)

So last night I finally finished reading Romans (Yes...I went on without you Jon because you're a slacker). Anyways, it's interesting because there were a lot on my mind and I was fighting with a problem I was having. So before I started reading I prayed that this issue could be resolved and while I was reading Romans, verses began to jump out and impact me. For the first time, I genuinely felt like I was having a conversation with God through the Bible and it was pretty amazing. This also reinforces my goal to continue reading the Bible every day.

Anyways, today we went to the Family Christian Store because my mom had to pick up a gift for some lady at church who's getting baptized on Easter Sunday. While I was there, I found an interesting book called Extreme Answers to Life's Tough Questions and it's a really good book. It basically goes through every issue imaginable (ex: Anger, Repentance, Responsibility, Abortion, Rape, Music, Parents, and even Euthanasia) and presents what the Bible states about common questions regarding these issues. (there are hundreds in the book) Not only does it present how God answers these questions but also gives support through many verses. [: I'm currently in the process of going through the book and have already learned a lot. It's quite enlightening.

Well in other news, I found the cutest J Prom dress. :D It's hot pink and I know that Asians don't usually look good in pink but I don't care because I couldn't pass it up. Spring Break is going well so far...nothing exciting but still a great break from school.

[: I'm finally posting this last day of States

So once again I only got 3-4 hours of sleep b/c Rona and I stayed up until 3 talking about life (: But it was weird because once again I woke up early and couldn't fall back to sleep. We had to leave by 7:15 so Rona and I ran down to BK for more coffee (yay) and Monster (so I wouldn't crash later). When we got to Susquehanna University I saw Lala and we walked around and hung out. It was fun because I haven't seen her in a really long time and she's pretty cool/crazy. :D She tried to make me go watch LD rounds with her but I had to go watch one of our kids who broke to Semi BUT Richard told me that Semis were at 9:45 (when it actually was at 8:30) so I missed it ): Richard and I decided to walk around and we see John Bute and my creeper radar immediately goes off. (Because I definitely have one [:) He decides to hang out with us and the two of them starts arguing about football. It was very entertaining xD. John leaves after awhile because he gets mad at Richard for insulting his play (?)

Then Johnny came and we walked around some more and ended up in the girls' dorm where Richard proceeds to find his "lovely Amanda" so he can go "get laid." -.- Bear in mind that Richard has a girlfriend whom he has been going out with for 9 months. He's so weird :D Somehow Brennan finds us and the remainder of the morning consists of Richard and me trying to escape/avoid him. I swear Brennan has a GPS tracking system for us because he found us a couple of times at obscure places. But then the other TRBs began complaining b/c Richard hasn't been working all morning so we had to go back. After sitting there for an hour "working" (aka ordering Brennan to do all the work), we went outside and the rest of the team decides to harrass me about my John Bute situation. I caught the entire thing on video so you can go see how much I get harrassed at Forensics. They decided to create a human fortress around me to hide me from him :P Then Richard, Johnny, and I go find Lily, and Johnny decides that it'll be a GREAT idea to buy me an energy drink (my second one of the day). :P It tasted really good but it was really bad for me. We went to the awards ceremony and the entire team yelled at me because they thought I was going to have a heart attack. Sinko even made this scientific hypothesis regarding my organs crashing...not sure how valid that is. Sitting through the awards ceremony was a terrible experience because 1) I had to pee 2) I couldn't sit still and kept shaking (from the energy drinks) and 3) I felt really dizzy. We left afterwards and John came to say bye but it was only for5 secs so it wasn't too bad. We then went to dinner at this redneck restaurant where everyone was above 60 years old and white :D The waitresses also had to dress up in dresses and bonnets. I sat with Kyle, Richard, and Lily and we had a conversation about Kyle's love life. It was pretty interesting. [:

The rest of the night consists of me trying to study (it failed), having a weird conversation with johnny :P, having an interesting convo with Lily, and surviving the harrassment of Kevin Zhang, who thinks that I'm secretly in love with John Bute. FML. (only not really)

Tribute
This is a tribute to my amazing parents, who often say things that make my day.

Texts

From Dad after I forgot to text/call for a day: "Lost and find connie yuan. Female. 17. Last time found at wei yuan house. Since then, we lost contact"

From Mom: "How are you going today. We miss you. Dad said your group was wired. Connie maybe was kidnapped. You know your dad himself is wired. Mom. [I think she meant "weird" [: This was after my dad dropped me off at camp and saw the mob and was freaked out.]

From Mom after I forgot to text again (oops): "Bad pang pang [fatty--my parents' nickname for me]. You lost again."
