I just got back from a mission trip to Rockhill, SC and it was pretty amazing [: I was surprised (even though I shouldn't be) by what God is capable of and am still on a spiritual high...hope it doesn't go away. Anyways, before I eat away your time with a day by day reenactment, I'm going to begin with some general information. The worship and message were amazing and they really spoke to me personally. The songs were some of my all time favorites like Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, etc. Our main focus for the message was John 15 and Isaiah. I've never realized what an amazing and powerful book Isaiah is, so I've decided to put off Acts (which is what I've been reading for daily devotions at home) to begin reading Isaiah. I felt like my relationship with God has been strengthened.

So now for the day to day reenactment :D All the pictures should be loaded on facebook soon. Don't read this if you have other things you need to do. So we woke up at 5:30 and got to church by 6 on Saturday. It was a typical rainy Pittsburgh morning. I was dreading the 9 hour car ride (which turned to 10 after factoring rest stops and lunch). We couldn't bring our cell phones or iPods but certain people did anyways ): I sat at the back between Cindy and Jon and it was terrible D: Both got mad at me during the ride for some reason which has escaped me. Anyways, something interesting happened during the ride. So I was really doubting this trip...to have to spend 9 hours driving there only to spend a week doing hard work...it didn't seem fun. I was also doubting my ability to evangelize =/ (This reflection happened while I was miserable from my seat buddies) However, while passing a bridge, my eyes caught 2 words: Trust Jesus. It was spray painted on the side, and although it may be just graffiti, I felt as if God was reminding me that he is in control. My attitude began to change and I became more optimistic. Jon bought connect 4 at Walmart and that provided some entertainment until we arrived at our living location for the next week--Rock Hill High School. The campus was pretty big, and the first thing we felt when we stepped out of the car was a gust of hot, humid, air. It felt like we were suffocating and the complaints started immediately. It was really unfortunate that the hottest day that week had to be the first day leaving a bad impression. But then we could be fortunate for happening on a day we didn't have to work. [: We unpacked in our spacious classroom (which has an amazing a/c vent we sit on to cool off...it never failed us) Then we went to the opening celebration and met our summer staff--Andy, Nora, Paris, and some other guy whos name escaped me. They were really friendly and fun [: Before lights out, we established a rule for our chalkboard. We'll each add interesting or funny things to the board for encouragement throughout the week. I will also have a picture of that soon [: That night we began our tradition of the circle of fluv (fun and love) where we give each other back massages. This is extremely helpful after a day of work.

Okay I'll post more tomorrow [:

Tribute
This is a tribute to my amazing parents, who often say things that make my day.

Texts

From Dad after I forgot to text/call for a day: "Lost and find connie yuan. Female. 17. Last time found at wei yuan house. Since then, we lost contact"

From Mom: "How are you going today. We miss you. Dad said your group was wired. Connie maybe was kidnapped. You know your dad himself is wired. Mom. [I think she meant "weird" [: This was after my dad dropped me off at camp and saw the mob and was freaked out.]

From Mom after I forgot to text again (oops): "Bad pang pang [fatty--my parents' nickname for me]. You lost again."
