I'm On a Boat--The Lonely Island

Yesterday we went whitewater rafting with the family and a bunch of other families in my parents' bible study group. It was at Ohiopyle, which actually isn't in Ohio despite what the name suggests, and it took an hour and a half to get there. We got there around 10:30 and waited until 12:30 to get started. It was really boring to wait D: Then we got on our life jackets and rode on a school bus for 20 minutes to get 9 miles upstream, which takes around 4 hours to finish. The rafts weren't those wooden ones used by Huck Finn which made me sad ): They were these giant inflatable bed-like things but didn't feel like beds because the seats were hard. The guide told us that we had to paddle down to the dock area (9 miles away) and to empty out all the mud, sand, and water. I laughed at the time thinking water wasn't going to get into the raft because the river looked peaceful...yeah...NO. So we started on our way and got stuck on rocks a lot. Apparently to get your raft off, you had to bounce up and down while paddling except that never worked :p Luckily, none of us fell in but the people in the other rafts weren't so lucky. Mind you, the currents aren't crazy like you see on tv but it wasn't a peaceful ride either. Well, some parts were peaceful and it was nice to enjoy nature. We thought we were going to have a peaceful ride and a nice picnic but that didn't really happen. During the peaceful parts, we had to keep paddling or else we would never get off the river before 6 PM which was when the river supposedly got dangerous. It was still a lot of fun though! The scenery was beautiful [: Along the way, the other families started to challenge us to a competition to see who would arrive there first so we had to paddle extra hard. So it was basically a 4 hour straight nonstop paddling workout. :D My arm hurts now. Then, we got on shore, changed, and waited for the last family to arrive. After they got on shore, we had a picnic near the river. We didn't get back home until 8 at

night.

I wanna have an adventure :[
Connie, can we go on a quest there??
We can! There are these people living in cabins in the woods there...and there are huuuge pastures. We can play cowboys and indians!
