Alright, it's time I make another post because you guys haven't heard from me in a while [: So anyways, since my last post, I've gone to speech camp and back. Speech camp at Northwestern was 10 days and it was pretty intense. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun as well! We gave 3 speeches a day and had 3 lectures a day, but it was all worth it because I think I improved. So the best way to show you what speech camp is like is to give you an example of a daily schedule.
7:00 Wake up
8:00 breakfast (but me and my roomie usually skipped breakfast to sleep some more :p)
9:00 first lecture (usually on something broad like argumentation or tournament procedures because the interp kids were with us)
9:45 Warm ups
10:00 second lecture (usually on a topic area like Europe, or Social Issues, or Govt)
11:30 First speech (usually with questions from the second lecture)
1:00 Lunch
2:00 third lecture (on a topic area)
3:30 Second speech (on third lecture)
5:00 Speech Drills
6:00 Dinner
7:00 Third speech (pick question from the other topics today)
8:30 Staff performance (counselors perform for us their events)
9:30 Must be in the building
10:00 Must be on your floor
11:00 in room/ lights out
[: We had no free time between each event so it was super busy. But Northwestern is a really pretty campus! I kinda want to go there now...they have a really good business grad program. We also went to the beach on Tuesday because Tuesday morning and early afternoon was used for a tournament. Except it's not like normal tournaments because they throw different events in each room so you can see what other people have been working on. It was pretty fun though [: So after that, we went to the beach and although it was super cold, we had lots of fun. We played mafia with most of the other people.
It was also pretty cool because it's the first time I've been on the airplane by myself. I was scared at first because the Chicago O'Hare airport is pretty big and confusing, but everything worked out in the end [:
So I've been at home not doing much. I went to go see UP with Rona and Liyan, and surprisingly it was a really good movie. It was sad but I didn't cry D: Now people think I have no soul :p
Today I went running with Gina and Cindy at North Park. I didn't realize we would be running the lake which was about 5 miles...fun fun. Then, we went to Gina's and made smoothies. Her dog's so cute! I want it. It was scared of me though D: And then we went out to eat at Sonic and ate back all the calories we burned :p Then we went to Bayleigh's house to see her horse because she's out of town and her horse is lonely. She lives on the Soergel's farm so it was really cool because we got to see where they plant apples and strawberries. It was also a huuuuge piece of land. But then the horse ran out from its stall because we forgot to lock the gate...so we had to chase it down. [: Fun day.

Connie. Have you ever seen The Notebook? If you didn't cry at that, I'm no longer your friend.
Haha it wasn't funny at the time b/c we were afraid the horse was going to run into the street and get ran over but it's pretty funny now :D
I CRIED SOOO HARD WATCHING THE NOTEBOOK! And I watched it at least 5 times...and I cried each time so yay I still have a soul!
